ALPHATECH Passes CMM Level 3 Assessment

BURLINGTON , MA ( April 9, 2004 ) – ALPHATECH's Defense Programs Office (DPO) was independently evaluated as meeting the requirements for Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Level 3. The CMM-Based Appraisal for Internal Process Improvement was led by Mr. Richard Desjardins (Strategic Quality Alliance), an Authorized Software Engineering Institute Lead Assessor.

“This accomplishment is a prerequisite for pursuing the key large-scale development programs that will become a major component of ALPHATECH's business growth over the next few years,” said Dr. Bruce Rosenberg, DPO's Vice President.

“Achieving CMM Level 3 is the first of many milestones along ALPHATECH's journey to provide consistent excellence in software engineering,” said Mr. Joseph Hauk, ALPHATECH's Director of Software Engineering Processes.

ALPHATECH Celebrates 25th Anniversary

BURLINGTON, MA (November 13, 2003) -- ALPHATECH celebrated their 25th Anniversary on November 13, 2003. The event was held at the Westford Regency Conference Center and attended by many of ALPHATECH's employees as well as distinguished invited guests.  The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Anthony Tether, Director of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA).

Jacques Gansler Joins ALPHATECH Board of Directors

BURLINGTON, MA (February 10, 2003) - ALPHATECH, Inc. announced today that The Honorable Jacques S. Gansler was elected to the company's board of directors at the February 8th meeting of the board.

"We are very fortunate to have Dr. Gansler join the ALPHATECH board," said Nils R. Sandell Jr., ALPHATECH's President and CEO. "Jacques' experience at TASC and in the government make him uniquely qualified to provide us with advice and counsel on our strategic directions as we seek to grow ALPHATECH."

Dr. Gansler holds the Roger C. Lipitz Chair in Public Policy and Private Enterprise at the University of Maryland School of Public Affairs. Previously (1997-2001), he served as the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics where he was responsible for Department of Defense acquisition, research and development, logistics, acquisition reform, advanced technology, international programs, environmental security, nuclear, chemical, and biological programs, and the defense technology and industrial base. From 1977 to 1997, Dr. Gansler was Executive Vice President and Corporate Director for TASC, Incorporated, during which time he played a major role in building the company from a small operation into a large, widely-recognized and greatly-respected corporation.

Gene Morgan to Join ALPHATECH as Vice President and CFO

BURLINGTON, MA (October 16, 2002) - ALPHATECH, Inc. announced today that Gene Morgan is joining the company as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

"We are delighted to have Gene join us on a full-time basis," said Nils R. Sandell, Jr., ALPHATECH's President and CEO. "Gene's depth of experience in our industry and his knowledge of ALPHATECH make him uniquely qualified for the CFO position."

Mr. Morgan was formerly Vice President of Finance, Accounting, and Government Relations of Ball Aerospace and Technology, a $500M sales developer of satellite systems for NASA and the intelligence community. Previously, he worked for Verac, Logicon, and the USAF. He has been a member of the ALPHATECH Board of Directors since 1996. He has a Bachelors Degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration from UCLA.

Dale Klamer to Head ALPHATECH San Diego Office

BURLINGTON, MA (June 7, 2002) - ALPHATECH, Inc., announced today that Dale Klamer is joining the company as Vice President and Manager of its newly formed San Diego Division.

"Dale is well-known to our key customers and a great addition to ALPHATECH," said Nils R. Sandell, Jr., ALPHATECH's President and CEO.  "Dale will enhance our already strong technical team, particularly in information fusion systems, and will help us expand our West Coast customer base."

Mr. Klamer was formerly Vice President and Corporate Technical Director of Orincon Corp.  Previously, he worked for the Naval Electronic Laboratory Center (now the Naval Space and Warfare Command System Center - San Diego).  He has a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Mathematics from San Diego State University.

Harold W. Sorenson Joins ALPHATECH Board of Directors

BURLINGTON, MA (May 20, 2002) - ALPHATECH, Inc., announced today that Harold W. Sorenson was elected to the company's board of directors at a May 3 meeting of the company's shareholders.

"We are privileged to have Dr. Sorenson join the ALPHATECH board," said Dr. Nils R. Sandell Jr., ALPHATECH's President and CEO. "Hal's unique background in industry, government, and academia makes him extremely well qualified to assist us in achieving our corporate mission of transitioning advanced technology to applications."

Harold W. Sorenson is currently a private consultant. Most recently, he was with the MITRE Corporation, Bedford, Massachusetts as Senior Vice President and General Manager. In this capacity, he also served as Senior Technical Advisor and Chief Engineer for the Air Force Electronic Systems Center. Previous positions included Chief Scientist of the Air Force and Professor and Head of the Systems Sciences Group of the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Sorenson was a founder of Orincon Corp., serving as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Sorenson is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is a three time recipient of the Air Force Exceptional Civilian Service Award.

Lincoln D. Faurer Joins ALPHATECH Board of Directors

BURLINGTON, MA (Feb. 5, 2001) - ALPHATECH, Inc., announced today that Lincoln D. Faurer was elected to the company's board of directors at the Feb. 2 meeting of the Board.

Faurer's extensive background and expertise in the intelligence commmunity as we continue to expand our business model in applying our technology base to a broader customer set."

Lt. Gen. (USAF Retired) Lincoln D. Faurer is currently a private consultant providing services relative to C4ISR issues. He is also President of the Joint Military Intelligence College Foundation and of the National Correlation Working Group and Chairman of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. Gen. Faurer had a distinguished military career, culminating in his service as Director, National Security Agency (1981 - 1985). After his retirement from the Air Force, he served as President of the Corporation for Open Systems (1986 - 1991). He is a West Point Graduate and has Masters degrees from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute and George Washington University.

Robert F. Sproull Joins ALPHATECH Board of Directors

BURLINGTON, MA (Oct. 10, 2000) - ALPHATECH, Inc., announced today that Robert F. Sproull was elected to the company's board of directors at its Sept. 25 meeting.

Robert F. Sproull is a Vice President and Fellow at Sun Microsystems Laboratories. Before joining Sun, he was a principal with Sutherland, Sproull & Associates, an associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a member of the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. He also serves as a technical advisor to Advanced Technology Ventures, a venture-capital parternership. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and has served on the US Air Force Scientific Advisory Board. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.
