Projects in artificial intelligence/knowledge-based systems at ALPHATECH currently fall into three groups:
Knowledge-based Information Fusion.
Employ probabilistic knowledge-based methods
(object-oriented Bayesian Networks, Dynamic Bayesian
Networks/Hidden Markov Models) to represent, recognize
and predict activities of ground forces from
time-sequenced sensor data.
Planning and Scheduling.
Employ a combination of natural language processing,
knowledge representation, constraint reasoning, machine
learning, and agent technologies to develop, represent,
and critique plans for military operations.
Knowledge Engineering.
Develop technologies that facilitate the rapid construction and exploitation of large knowledge bases.
