Moving
Target Exploitation
Customer:
DARPA STO
Goal
of Program:
The Moving Target Exploitation Program will develop and demonstrate
the capability of ground moving target tracking and behavior pattern
analysis algorithms to extract information about militarily significant
activities from radar MTI, HRMTI and SAR data. These algorithms will
be demonstrated with Joint STARS and SEP test data.
Key
Technologies:
Airborne Radars, High Range Resolution MTI and Moving Target Image generation.
Moving Target Imaging, 1D-ATR. HRMTI-based Multiple Hypothesis Ground
Target Tracking and Identification. MTI and Track-Based Motion and Behavior
Pattern Analysis of ground moving target activities.
Key
Product:
The MTE program is a DARPA initiative to demonstrate the tremendous
potential provided by Airborne radar MTI data to provide situational
awareness to the warfighter. This potential was demonstrated during
the Gulf War by the Joint STARS airborne radar system. The MTE effort
will develop and demonstrate the capability to gain situational awareness
from airborne radar systems in less favorable environments where enemy
activities are relatively small and the activities may be camouflaged
by civilian activities and mountainous terrain.
